An amplifier is a tool, and you need it to work every time you flip the power switch. I specialize in the maintenance, repair, and full restoration of tube amplifiers at the component level.
Common Problems I fix:

- Intermittent crackling, static, or popping
- Blown fuses or tube failure
- Hum, buzz, and grounding issues

- Biasing and tube matching
- Rebuilding faulty power supplies
- Upgrading to grounded 3-prong power cables
- Troubleshooting reverb and tremolo circuits
- Replacing scratchy potentiometers and jacks
Precision Bench Work
I utilize a full range of vintage and modern test equipment to analyze your circuit at the component level. Whether it’s tracing a phantom noise or dialing in the perfect bias, every amp that hits the bench is treated with technical precision and respect for the original design.

If you have a vintage piece that has been sitting in a closet for decades, do not just plug it in.
I use a "slow start" method, slowly bringing the amp up to voltage on a variac to minimize the chance for damage and reform the old capacitors if possible. Old electrolytic capacitors eventually dry out and can cause catastrophic damage when fully powered up abruptly.
I offer comprehensive checkups, "cap jobs", and safety upgrades to make these incredible old circuits safe and reliable for modern use without destroying what makes them special.
